J'ai envie d'expérimenter différentes techniques et j'ai commencé par la peinture acrylique. J'ai ressorti mes tubes achetés il y a quelques années déjà, rassemblé mes pinceaux, protégé ma table et je me lance... Google m'aide beaucoup, j'avoue! J'y ai puisé quelques conseils sur la dilution, le type de papier, le choix des pinceaux, la façon d'amener la couleur, allant du plus clair au plus foncé. J'ai réalisé que mon expérience en peinture, jusqu'ici, se limitait à la gouache à l'école et à l'aquarelle que j'ai pratiqué pendant plusieurs années (je crois!). Et du coup, j'ai naturellement tendance à ajouter beaucoup d'eau, à peindre avec beaucoup de transparence. L'effet matière que l'on peut obtenir avec l'acrylique m'est inconnu et finalement, pas très naturel pour moi.

Sinon, côté inspiration, je suis à fond "Lisa Congdon". Je suis en train de lire son livre et j'ai ainsi découvert ce qu'elle fait et... j'adore! J'aime sa peinture tout en taches de couleurs vives, son côté à la fois naïf et joyeux, mais aussi créatif et original. Elle partage beaucoup de son processus de création à travers son blog. C'est un plaisir de la suivre. J'ai choisi de m'en inspirer dans mon exploration de l'acrylique, une jolie façon de découvrir davantage sa démarche.

I wanted to experiment different techniques in painting and I'm starting with acrylic paint. I got a few tubes bought some years ago, gathered my brushes, protected my table and I start ... Google helps me a lot, I admit! I have got some tips on dilution, kind of paper, the choice of brushes, how to put the color on the paper, from light to dark. I realized that my painting experience so far is limited to the school gouache and watercolor that I practiced for many years (I think!) when I was very young. And so, I naturally tend to add lots of water to paint for a lot of transparency appearance. The "material" effect that can be achieved with acrylic is unknown to me and ultimately not very natural in fact.
For the inspiration side, I'm very "Lisa Congdon." I'm reading her book and I discovered what she does and ... I love it! I like her painting with brightly colored spots, both naive and cheerful, but also creative and original. She shares a lot about her creative process through her blog and it is a pleasure for me to follow. I've chosen to get inspiration from her in my exploration of acrylic. It's also a nice way to discover more about her approach.
